These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Materio. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the platform.

1. Access and Accounts

Materio provides open access to its core academic browsing features. Creating an account is optional.

Accounts may provide additional features such as subscriptions, personalization, contribution tracking, or enhanced functionality.

If you choose to create an account:

  • You must provide accurate and complete information.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account.

Materio reserves the right to introduce or modify account requirements in the future. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated requirements.

2. Contributions and Content Review

Materio does not permit direct public uploads.

Users may submit academic material for review and publication. All submissions undergo verification before being made publicly available.

  • Standard review time is within 48 hours.
  • In certain cases, review may take up to 72 hours.
  • No submission will remain pending beyond 72 hours without action.

Materio reserves the right to approve, reject, edit, format, or remove submitted material at its discretion.

Prohibited Submissions

Users must not submit:

  • Copyrighted material without proper authorization.
  • Offensive, unlawful, harmful, or defamatory content.
  • Malware or malicious code.
  • Material intended to facilitate academic dishonesty.

Ownership of Contributions

Users retain ownership of their submitted content. By submitting material, you grant Materio a non exclusive, royalty free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute the content on the platform.

3. Intellectual Property and License

Materio, including its software, structure, design, branding, and infrastructure, is proprietary and licensed under the Materio Proprietary Source Available License (MPSAL 1.0).

Under MPSAL 1.0:

  • The software may be used only for personal, educational, or internal purposes.
  • Public hosting, commercial use, redistribution, modification, or creation of derivative works is prohibited without prior written permission.
  • Where written permission is granted for public hosting or redistribution, clear attribution must be displayed as required by the license.
  • The software remains the intellectual property of the Licensor.
  • The license terminates automatically upon breach.

Source availability does not imply open source status. Certain components may remain private at the discretion of the Licensor.

4. Academic Use Disclaimer

Materio provides academic resources for educational support purposes only.

  • Materio does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of uploaded or published materials.
  • The platform is not responsible for academic outcomes resulting from reliance on its content.
  • Users are solely responsible for complying with their institution’s academic integrity policies.

Materio must not be used to facilitate cheating or examination misconduct.

5. Privacy

Materio collects limited data necessary for platform functionality and improvement, which may include:

  • Account information where registration is used.
  • Usage analytics and interaction data.
  • Device or browser information.

Materio does not sell personal data.

Data collection, processing, and user rights are governed by the Materio Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Materio uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Enable essential platform functionality.
  • Maintain user preferences and authentication states.
  • Measure performance and usage analytics.
  • Support advertising and personalization features where applicable.

7. User Responsibilities

By using Materio, you agree to:

Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access.

8. Limitation of Liability

Materio is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis without warranties of any kind.

Materio shall not be liable for:

  • Errors or inaccuracies in academic material.
  • Temporary service interruptions or technical issues.
  • Data loss beyond reasonable control.
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

9. Suspension and Termination

Materio reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where users violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

Registered users may request account deletion subject to applicable data retention policies.

10. Modifications to These Terms

Materio may update these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted with a revised date.

Continued use of the platform following changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising in connection with the platform shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts located in Gujarat.
